TODAY IS THE LAST DAY. You still have time to go to Amazon and download it you Kindle app.
This is a powerful suspense-filled romance. It’s not your everyday romance, hunky type of story. This has grit. It’s a bit risqué, and does have some tender, loving moments, but it’s filled with suspense. How could it not?
Ariel is in the Witness Protection Program. She’s survived a horrendous ordeal when seventeen years old. She’s experienced abandonment from most of those she though loved her and has totally lost her trust in love. She’s a victim barely brought back from the regression her experience caused. She’s stuck at seventeen mentally and emotionally because that’s where her last happy moments lived. Now at twenty-two, secluded in a country cottage, reclusive and agoraphobic she is surviving on aid from the WITSEC program, a disability allotment and meager royalties from her little novels. With funds low she devises a plan to help pay for her needs by inviting her delivery men to aid by offering the only thing she has to give in return.
After all she’s been through and knowing she still has much to overcome, she tries to make it therapeutic. Her experiences bring on flashbacks of her ordeal as she remembers the worst she’d forgotten. Her only reprieve is her true love for Jerry, the eighteen year old who helps with yard work and minor chores around her place. She doesn’t feel older, and he doesn’t see her any different from any other girl he would ask out. And he is falling in love with her in the way only an eighteen year old hunk can on his way to a big college and an awesome career. But things had already began to affect Ariel due to her strong sixth sense. And a puppy is found that leads trouble her way. Fear of her identity being discovered puts her further on edge.
Meeting Deputy Danny Pullard, when he inquires about the puppy, gives her more to worry about. But Danny is struck and can’t forget her, feeling the fate of the criminal actions around her put her in his care. Something from his past also draws him to her. Then a shock occurs making him aware of her fragility. The events that follow make all their lives turn in a new direction. And how will come out will depend on secrets and agreements Ariel has bound Jerry and Danny to as neither knows her involvement with the other. She loves them both, but realizes she will have to choose. As she begins to change, recovering from the girl she once was to the woman she’s becoming, she has a lot to dwell on while these two men becomes friends, fighting to protect her from an unseen enemy she suspects is her greatest fear.
